Galileo Research Facts No. 5: Can Galileo Training reduce Creatine Kinase (CK)?
As mentioned in #GRFS1 erwähnt, basiert der beobachtete Effekt vor allem auf Lockerung der Muskulatur und Steigerung der Durchblutung. the observed effects can be explained by relaxation of the exhausted muscles and increase of blood-flow. Therefore, Galileo Training can be used as a cool-down after intense exercises to reduce delayed muscle pain.
But there are two other interesting applications: (1) Galileo Training can be used for stretching in-between sets (frequencies between 13 and 21Hz) – research shows that stretching can increase the training effects; (2) Galileo Training can be used at high frequencies (larger 25Hz) and depending on the individual abilities using extra weights (#GRFS4) as a super-set, as an additional training set to maximal exhaust the trained muscles. In addition, high frequencies cause an even higher blood-flow which again can help against muscle pain. This probably also explains why even intense Galileo Training usually does not cause muscles pain.
This study not only shows that Galileo Training can decrease subjective muscle pain (#GRFS1), but also the more objective CK-levels of the blood. CK is an enzyme which increases with increasing damage of muscle cells. Any kind of training (or even normal use) causes more or less damages of muscle cells – the higher the training induced damage the higher the CK level – therefore it’s believed to be the objective measure of muscle pain.
