Galileo Reserach Facts No. 3: Do high frequencies cause more muscle activation?

This is the reason why muscle size, muscle power and muscle force should be trained a frequencies way above 20Hz: This study shows that the combination of amplitude (the displacement up and down from the neutral position of the platform) and vibration frequency (number of oscillations per second) defines the intensity of the Galileo Training. At high frequencies the muscle activation (EMG) Is much higher than at low frequencies. This is also the reason why our profession training devices offer frequencies above 30 Hz (Galileo Fit: up to 36HZ, Galileo Pro: up to 40Hz). At some point (or some frequency) however, the maximum activation and utilization of muscle fibers and motoric end plates is reached and higher frequencies don’t offer any additional advantages. Therefore, frequencies above 35Hz are usually only of interest for fast athletes. According to our experience for most of the users, frequencies up to 33Hz (e.g. Galileo S 35) are sufficient to cause a maximum muscle contraction.
